As part of the Women in Local Councils initiative, the Training Group has arranged a Development Centre facilitated by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), assisted by two district council Chief Executives.
This half-day event will give participants the opportunity to focus on their strengths and development needs in relation to the key skills required at senior management level. It will therefore be particularly suitable for women who are currently in the Principal Officer grades.

Participants will be assessed in the following areas:
- Leadership and Strategic Skills
- Communication Skills
- Innovation
- Working with Others
- Service Improvement
- Political Skills
Content
Assessment will be carried out through:
- In-tray exercise
- Presentation
- Role-play exercise
- Occupational Personality Questionnaire (OPQ), to be completed online in advance

Monday 11 September 2006, from 9.15am to 12.45pm
Feedback sessions (1.5 hours) will take place on Tuesday 12 September
